The Danish company Agrisys delivers solutions for modern, professional pig producers focusing on individual feeding, weighing systems, welfare, management, and biosecurity.
Agrisys was looking for a new and more robust generation of their electronic control modules, that handles all distributed communication in their feeding systems and control devices throughout the stables.
Develco has been involved throughout the product development and industrialization process.
Two Printed Circuits Boards PCB’s
The solution is based on a distributed network with a combination of Ethernet and CAN Bus network to ensure the most reliable but still economically feasible solution. This solution makes it simple to wire an installation and easy to connect several devices to the same network / management system. We have developed two different PCBs:
- A LAN Controller PCB with Ethernet switch and link to the CAN Bus network
- A Valve Controller PCB with CAN Bus interface and 4 I/O’s for Valve controller outputs and sensor inputs
Agrisys being experts in feeding systems have developed all the application software themselves. Simultaneously Develco has been responsible for development of embedded software / firmware for the two PCB’s. In the product development process we used Zephyr, as this real-time operating system provides a solid platform for further development of a unique solution.
After completion of the development project, we supported the industrialization of the electronics and establishment of production at the selected Electronic Manufacturing Services EMS partner. The production start-up included among other things assembly and quality instructions, test software, and test rig. In addition, we support Agrisys in the daily production management of the products.
